Privacy

Short version: this site is static files. We count visits with cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics. We do not run ads, a cookie banner, or a newsletter popup.

What we collect

The site sets no first-party cookies today. If you email hello@loftaire.com, we will have whatever you send in that message.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc.). A small Cloudflare script on each page reports the page URL, the referring page, your browser and device type, your approximate country (worked out from your IP address on Cloudflare’s servers), and page-load performance. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint you, and is not used for ads. Cloudflare processes it under the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Planned: Google Analytics 4 via Cloudflare Zaraz

We plan to add Google Analytics 4 so we can see which guides are read and which store links are clicked. It is not switched on yet; when it is, we will date this section. It would work the same way as on our sister site: your browser sends events to loftaire.com, and Cloudflare Zaraz forwards them to Google from Cloudflare’s servers, with your IP address and user-agent so Google can estimate location and device. Events would be page views and a click event (affiliate_click) with non-personal fields only: product, store, and where on the page the link was. Zaraz would set first-party cookies holding a random visitor and session ID. Google signals, audiences, ad personalisation and advertising storage would be off.

Exclusions: visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (checked on Cloudflare’s servers), and anyone whose browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track or whose device time zone is in Europe, would send nothing to Google Analytics and get no analytics cookies.

If you subscribe, the form posts your email to Buttondown at buttondown.com/api/emails/embed-subscribe/loftaire. Buttondown then has your address so we can send occasional notes. That form is inline — in the footer and on Letters. It is not a popup, and we will not add one. Unsubscribe from any message, or email us to be removed.

What other companies may see

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may keep standard request logs (IP address, user agent, URL requested) for security and performance.

If you follow a product link to Amazon or another retailer, that retailer has its own privacy policy. Amazon may use cookies to credit a purchase to our associate tag (loftaire-20).
